How to Make a Small Space Feel Bigger
Just because you don’t have the money for a huge house that you been dreaming about, it doesn’t mean that you won’t be happy with a smaller one because there are various tricks that you can do to make a small space feel much bigger. That’s why I created this article to show you these tricks that you can do from the comfort of your home. Even I used some of these tricks to make my living room feel bigger and I can say with confidence that it works really well. Of course, there are various ways to achieve this, but I will be focusing on two major methods in this article.
Use Lighter Colors
When people think about room space, they often think about moving furniture around to make more room, but in this case, that isn’t what you want to do. What people forget about is that light can make everything feel bigger and more open. That’s why I suggest that you always pain your rooms in some light color.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be white, there are various nice light colors that will do the trick. When you enter a small room and it is painted with a very dark color, you will immediately get the feeling like the room is ten times smaller because it is too dark. However, if you pain the room with a light color, it will seem like you doubled the size of the room.
Make Center Space
Having a small room is a very common issue that a lot of people are having and a very quick and simple solution to that would be to simply create center space in that particular room. What this means is that you have to avoid placing anything big around the middle of the room. If you have a couch, make sure that it is close to the walls as possible because every little bit of extra room that you get in the middle counts. Also, changing the furniture in the room might help you out because some people just make the mistake of buying too big of a furniture piece for the room. Try buying a smaller version of a table that you have or a smaller couch.
Of course, buying new furniture isn’t the best way to fix this issue because it can cost you a lot of money. However, if you don’t have any furniture inside, then make sure to use this tip and get furniture that will actually be functional inside the room. I once used the trick to create the center space and I can tell you that it worked like a charm for me. All of my friends said the room was more spacious.
